Portadown Defenders Band Parade 2016

Weather wise it was a mixed blessings. We were greeted as usual with open arms by the members of Portadown Presbyterian Church as they open their hall each year so people can use their facilities.

Heather was volunteering for the night and to our surprise we got a visit from our other volunteer Rebecca who loves visiting the bus. The night started quietly but we had quite a few visitors including our regulars. But we had an extra special visitor Andy from Omagh Protestant Boys who was home on holidays. He is a star in our eyes.

Lots of conversations. A big thank you to all those who sympathized with me over the death of my friend Gaynor. Many of them had met her when she was here last year. Needless to say a lot of the conversation was around Brazil and the possibility of a team going out there next year.

We also had a visit from a member of the flute band church, and a lot of people we hadn't seen for a long time.
A late night home but well worth it.
